Royal Opera House young artists perform in Windsor Castle in aid of Cancer Research UK
On November 13 four Royal Opera House Jette Parker Young Artists - Anush Hovanesyan, Nadezhda Karyazina, Sam Sakker, Yuriy Yurchuk and the program artistic director David Gowland performed at Windsor Castle in front of Royal family in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Cancer Research UK is a cancer research and awareness charity in the United Kingdom, formed on 4 February 2002. Its aim is to reduce the number of deaths from cancer. Cancer Research UK's work is almost entirely funded by the public. It raises money through donations, legacies, community fundraising, events, retail and corporate partnerships. Over 40,000 people are regular volunteers.

Barrandov Opera Gala Evening
It was the most inspiring and amazing experience to perform at Barrandov Opera Gala evenings with Susana Gaspar, Catia Moreso, Pablo Bemsch and Peter Bailey. Run and hosted by John Dearlove - those were three magical Suffolk evenings of beautiful music attended by the most receptive audience.
The Barrandov Opera opened its first season in 2003 with two opera productions 'The Marriage of Figaro' and 'Così fan tutte'. There have since been some ten productions including Holst's 'The Wandering Scholar', Lennox Berkeley's 'The Dinner Engagement' and the Stravinsky classic 'The Rake's Progress'. There has also been a regular programme of Opera Gala Evenings and chamber music recitals featuring the St. Petersburg Quartet and the Czech Wihan Quartet.
The Barrandov takes its name from the high bluff overlooking the river Vltava just as it enters the city of Prague. The Barrandov district of Prague is best known for the Barrandov film studios, but it has also been home to various members of the Dearlove family over the years. The Barrandov Opera has received support and encouragement from the Czech National Opera in Prague, the Lobkowicz family at Nelahozeves Castle who have been great supporters of music over the generations as well as from Vaclav Havel, late President of the Czech Republic who was Patron of the Barrandov until his untimely death in 2011.

Yuriy Yurchuk to sing Germano in upcoming Jette Parker Young Artist Programme performance of Rossini's La Scala Di Seta.
The rising stars of The Royal Opera's Jette Parker Young Artists Programme present Gioachino Rossini's absurd early farce La scala di seta, his sixth opera. It was first performed in Venice in 1812 when the composer was just 20, with Giuseppe Maria Foppa providing a libretto adapted from Pierre Gaveaux's 1808 opera L'Échelle de soie.La scala di seta is a charming example of Rossini's gift for comedy and his rhythmic flair, with highlights including Lucilla's aria 'Sento talor nell'anima'.
The production is a highlight of Meet the Young Artists Week at the Royal Opera House, which provides a chance to see the future faces of opera in the intimate settings of the Linbury Studio Theatre. The week’s activities also include a diverse programme of free recitals and a chance to meet the Artists in person.

Yuriy Yurchuk to join Royal Opera House Jette Parker Young Artists Programme

Following a rigorous audition process, five new singers have been selected to join the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme in September 2014.
Australian soprano Lauren Fagan, Australian baritone Samuel Johnson, British bass James Platt, Australian tenor Samuel Sakker and Ukrainian baritone Yuriy Yurchuk were selected from over 390 applicants in 58 countries to join the Programme.
The audition process comprised three rounds; the 12 finalists passed two panel auditions and a one-to-one coaching session with JPYA Artistic Director David Gowland, before singing on the Main Stage in front of a panel that included Music Director Antonio Pappano and Director of The Royal Opera Kasper Holten.
The Jette Parker Young Artists work as salaried members of The Royal Opera for a two-year period, during which time they perform in a variety of main stage productions, concerts and recitals, as well as covering lead roles. They also receive coaching in all opera disciplines, including role interpretation, language and stagecraft. Former Jette Parker Young Artists include Marina Poplavskaya, Elisabeth Meister and Matthew Rose. At the end each year, their work is showcased in a JPYA Summer Performance.
The Kennedy Center Honors to be broadcast on CBS Sunday, December 29th
On Sunday, December 29 at 9pm ET/PT, CBS–TV will broadcast the 2013 Kennedy Center Honors. A tribute to achievement in American culture, the ceremony this year honored magnificent soprano Martina Arroyo. Yuriy sang with tenor Joseph Calleja, soprano Sondra Radvanovsky, soprano Chantelle Grant, baritone robert Kerr and bass Ryan Speedo Green and the Army Herald Trumpets, the U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club in the Act II finale of Verdi’s Aida. The ceremony took place on December 8th in Washington, D.C., and was attended by President and Mrs. Obama.
Yuriy Yurchuk to sing Ford in Verdi's Falstaff, March 2014
Yuriy will make his debut as Ford in Harry Silverstein production of Verdi's Falstaff this March with DePaul Opera Theater.
Conducted by maestro Steven Mosteller Verdi's final comic masterpiece will take place in historical Merle Reskin theater in Downtown Chicago.
Yuriy to sing on New York WQXR Radio on the McGraw Hill Financial Young Artists Showcase
In this special episode of the Young Artists Showcase, Martina Arroyo joins host Bob Sherman and students from her Prelude to Performance program, who perform excerpts from L'elisir d'amore and Les Contes d'Hoffmann. Yuriy Yurchuk to sing in Les Contes d'Hoffmann Antonia Act trio together with Lenora Green and Chantelle Grant. Nearly 10 years ago, Arroyo began a program to teach young singers how to inhabit an opera role.
