Yuriy to sing on New York WQXR Radio on the McGraw Hill Financial Young Artists Showcase

In this special episode of the Young Artists Showcase, Martina Arroyo joins host Bob Sherman and students from her Prelude to Performance program, who perform excerpts from L'elisir d'amore and Les Contes d'Hoffmann. Yuriy Yurchuk to sing in Les Contes d'Hoffmann Antonia Act trio together with Lenora Green and Chantelle Grant.  Nearly 10 years ago, Arroyo began a program to teach young singers how to inhabit an opera role.

Yuriy Yurchuk is a Grand prize winner at Monastero Foundation Bel Canto competition

Yuriy has won 1st place and Grand prize in 2013 Monastero Foundation Bel Canto Competition.

Lovers of Italian opera and fine dining can combine these passions at the Bel Canto Foundation Opera Evenings. Held in a banquet setting, guests are serenaded by Junior Division winners as they enjoy a gourmet Italian dinner. Following dessert, contestants from the Student and young Artist Divisions compete for over $50,000 in monetary prizes. The Grand Prize Winner receives a cash prize of $10,000 to be used to further their education and/or operatic career.

Operatic Debut as Marcello in La Boheme, March 2013

Yuriy to make is operatic debut as Marcello in DePaul Opera Theatre new production of one of the most popular operas of all time, Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème. A staple of the romantic opera repertoire, La Bohème is a beautiful story of life and love told through some of the most moving music ever written. Directed by Harry Silverstein and conducted by Maestro Steven Mosteller, this production brings to life the world of bohemians in 19th century Paris with vibrancy and passion.  Join in the School of Music's Centennial celebration as DePaul Opera Theatre raises the curtain on Puccini's timeless classic.

DePaul cast of La Boheme performed for a Puccini Symposium sponsored by the Fondazione of Giacomo Puccini in Lucca at the University of Chicago Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts and the Department of Music at the University of Chicago.

In attendance were the Mayor of Lucca (Puccini's home town) and members of the Lyric Opera of Chicago board.
